The LILO age

Enchaîne avec A Thousand Years (Bill Laswell remix).

Saw Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence last night. Made me realize that the twenty-first century had indeed begun. But it appeared to me that the people who made and/or enjoyed Minorty Report and I, Robot are still stuck somewhere in the past.
This movie is about the confusion between reality and virtuality, between body and soul, about losing your materiality but not dying, about discovering your own humanity and killing yourself for it, about machines and feelings.
In the end, the most human character is the dog.
’04 Most exciting opening credits sequence playpause Award.
Good use of the music, with some agressivity and nerve, and acid choirs. Red Lotus Radio reviewed the soundtrack sometime ago. Unfortunately, tracks are offline…
I’m not into Sting really, but I’ve always been interrested in very long remixes. Don’t know why. This one is 12’25 long, and the vocals are isolated in the first part of the track. Instrumental and percussion solos follow. Bill Laswell’s remix of A Thousand Years as an appetizer to 2005. Make it last.
